Abilities

Innate Spellcasting. The Corrupted Rilmani's innate spell-casting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 16). The Corrupted Rilmani can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: detect magic, thorn whip, darkness

3/day each: hold monster, invisibility (self only), dimension door

1/day: dispel magic, counter spell, blight

Corrupted Balance. When a spell or effect within 120 feet of the Corrupted Rilmani would alter the balance significantly, the Rilmani can use its reaction to cast counter spell at 5th-level without expending a spell slot or apply twist fate—forcing a reroll of any dice roll and choosing the less favourable outcome. This ability can be used a number of times equal to the Corrupted Rilmani's Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). It regains all expended uses after a long rest.

Amorphous Form. The Corrupted Rilmani can use a bonus action to assume a liquid shadow form or revert to its solid form. While in liquid shadow form, it can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing, gains resistance to nonmagical damage, and can fly 30 ft. While in this form, it can't take any actions other than to revert to its solid form.

Actions

Multiattack. The Corrupted Rilmani makes three attacks: two with its slam and one with its corrupt touch.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Corrupt Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 5) necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion.

Corrupt Balance (Recharge 5-6). The Corrupted Rilmani emits a wave of dark energy in a 60-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature of the DM's choice either suffers disadvantage on all attacks, checks, and saving throws for 1 minute or becomes charmed or frightened (Rilmani's choice) towards an ally. Creatures can repeat the saving throw at the end of their turn, ending the effect on their success.

Legendary Actions

The Corrupted Rilmani can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and at the end of another creature's turn. The Corrupted Rilmani regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Move. The Corrupted Rilmani moves up to its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.

Dark Rebuke (Costs 2 Actions). The Corrupted Rilmani targets one creature it can see within 60 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 22 (4d10) necrotic damage.

Description

The corrupted Rilmani Aurumach is a grotesque travesty of what he once was. No longer a guardian of neutrality, his once-lustrous skin now bears the taint of otherworldly corruption. Patches of his flesh appear corroded and emit a faint, eerie green luminescence that is unsettling. His eyes, once bright with the wisdom of the ages, now glow with a malevolent green light, piercing through the veil of darkness surrounding him. These eyes are windows to his soul and the abyss that now partly dwells within him.

This once-neutral guardian of balance has been twisted by nefarious forces, turning it into a harbinger of corruption and despair. Its metallic skin now exudes a dark, oily sheen, and its eyes glow with a malevolent light. The Corrupted Rilmani has adorned himself with metal scavenged from his surroundings, fashioning it into mimicry of gnomish clockwork. Nothing is left of what he once was except his desire to be left alone and continue his work … whatever twisted work may be.
